Toronto Reggae Festival 2016

This weekend Redemption will be once again be hosting the Toronto Reggae Festival. The festival is set to have a star studded line up. Young stars such as Romain Virgo and Christopher Martin will be joined on the stage by veterans such as Barrington Levy and Super Cat. I'm happy that Redemption switched up the line up year and no longer has Beres Hammond head lining both days. While Toronto fans love Beres, it's nice to give some other artists the chance to be featured during the festival. Tickets are still available. Get yours now and get ready for an amazing weekend at the Toronto Reggae Festival.

Irie Music and Island Soul Festivals 2016

The reggae festival season is here again. This coming weekend two of Toronto's biggest Reggae festivals will be taking place. Irie Festival will be back at Nathan Phillips Square this year. Bushman will entertain the festival goers on Saturday, July 30. Steele will be headlining the Irie Festival Stage on Sunday July 31. 

Harbourfront's Island Soul Festival will be hosting Exco Levi and Jah9 on July 30. Exco will be coming out first, with Jah 9 closing out the night. Reggae fan's in Toronto are lucky to be able to attend either event. It's unfortunate that we have to choose between the two. Would have been great to be to see Bushman at Iriefestival one night and Jah9 another night at Harbourfront.

This week's featured music video is the video combo of Natty Love and Black Marcus by Silkki Wonda and Eesah. The young artists show their versatility going from a lovers track to an ode to the Honourable Marcus Mosiah Garvey. Hopefully we'll be seeing more of these rising talents in the future.
